Why this blog is?

Originally, some years ago, I made this blog just because I occasionally have an urge to talk about model horses and yet in English. I already have some blogs about the hobby, but they're only in Finnish.

A rough fact is that Finns really aren't into blogs these days, and also model horses aren't widely known here. And I have found out that Finnish modellers aren't interested about becoming a community together. No one blogs. I don't use Facebook, Instagram or any other social media system. So... I really have no idea how many hobbyists we averagely have here and how to connect with them. Fortunately, I know that there are some American hobbyists who blog, so an English blog would make more sense, what comes to connecting with other model horse enthusiasts.

So why does this blog exist? As I now have also another model horse blog, Thousand Lakes Models, in English, I have been thinking that Visualrat would mainly focus at the miniature worlds I create in my head; I mean, I would post my photo stories here. I have a lot of stuff going on in my imagination, I have to admit. And these stories most likely aren't suitable for kids; I like some really dark humor and also creepy things, overall rough contents, which is very well represented by my dolls. I would like to say "and horses" too, but alas, my skill level isn't there yet. To separate the story/world part from the model horse hobby's technical side, I have started to call it "modelverse". It's going to get it's own page at some point.

For long time I've struggled to really use this blog, and have been thinking if I should just abandon this or not. I honestly like the other blogs better. And still, at the same time I think I could use this blog for, well, those photo stories and other story things and generally my own stuff if I find anything to mumble about. Or... Wait, the TLM blog is for exactly everything else than stories. I post there some tack tutorials and thoughts.

So yes... I tried to explain the purpose of this blog. I failed. This blog has no any actual purpose and I don't know why and how would I fix that. I struggle at posting the photo stacks/stories due to a million of reasons (no backdrop pictures, dolls lack clothes, poorly made old saddles, currently nonexistent studio box...).

I should take this kind of photos more often... Horses with thumb rats climbing on them.

Basically: I can't post any photo stories because my photos lack so many things which I would expect a good photo story to include to become enjoyable.
